John Neumann launched Neumann Law LLC in 2014 after spending 15 years at the law firm of Jones Day. Through his career, John has represented corporations and other business organizations in a variety of transactional and contract matters, including a broad array of real estate deals. John’s real estate practice focuses on financings, acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. By taking the time to understand his client’s business objectives and risk tolerances, John is able to offer practical solutions on his client’s transactions.
John has provided pro bono legal representation to a number of organizations in both Illinois and Wisconsin, including The Faye Gehl Conservation Foundation, The Chicago History Museum and The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum.
John has also served as a board member of The Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic, an organization dedicated to providing quality legal representation, at no cost, to the impoverished and received the Charles V. Hogren Distinguished Service Award, the clinic’s highest honor, for providing outstanding pro bono representation and for being a champion of the clinic’s mission and vision.
As a result of his professional and civic endeavors, John was selected to be a Fellow in the 2010 class of Leadership Greater Chicago, an organization dedicated to developing community awareness among leaders in the Chicago metropolitan area. John has also been honored as an “Illinois Rising Star” on multiple occasions by Law & Politics magazine.
Having been licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Wisconsin after obtaining his law degree from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, John regularly travels between these states for both professional and personal reasons. While Chicago has been home for over 15 years, John’s wife JoJo hails from Hartland, Wisconsin. Together, John and JoJo enjoy bringing their kids, TJ and Lyssa, to the Dairy State for outdoor activities not easily available in the City of Chicago!
